Hello, I have a problem. I extracted the .rar file with KEKA, I launched the Omnisphere.installer file, and when I go to Application Support, I do see the Spectrasonics folder, but it's empty; I don't have the Steam folder.

Hello Everyone.

I can confirm this installation work perfectly for me.

after extracting all 6 parts w/ Keka at once resulted in creating one cohesive STEAM folder which I then replaced in Library>Application Support > Spectrasonics.

Thank you for providing this awesome plugin.

Hi, thanks for your post. I did exactly as you described, and everything went well. I even see the sounds I had from Omnisphere 2. However, I encountered a problem: when I load sounds from Omnisphere 3, some (quite a few) displays a message saying the missing sounds cannot be loaded. I also noticed that some sounds load, but no sound is produced, nor do any messages appear. Did you encounter any problems? Maybe I did something wrong? I extracted the 6 files, then manually assembled all the folders within STEAM/Omnisphere, combining all the files from folders with the same name. If you have any suggestions, I'd really appreciate it. Bye.

Hey Folks,

First of I have now got Omnisphere 3 fully running on my Mac!  So this download will work.  However it did take me a couple of hours to set up and get working.

You really need to know your way around Mac OS file system and be confident you know how to move things around.

Here is how I did it.  First off do not install the application yet.  This is the last step.

The crucial thing is to focus on the STEAM folder. (nothing to do with Steam the games thing).
If you have Omnisphere 2 beware installing this will overwrite version 2 and if you don't get it working then you will lose Omnisphere completely.  This initially happened to me but I did get it working.

If you have Omnisphere 2 you will need to find your existing STEAM folder

The STEAM folder is located at Macintosh HD/Users/Your Username/Library/Application Support/Spectrasonics. (This location is hidden by default, so you'll need to access it via the "Go" menu in Finder, then hold the Option key to reveal "Library" or by using "Go to Folder" and typing ~/Library )

Make a copy of your STEAM folder to work on before replacing it latter.

If you don't have Omnisphere 2 then you can start with the STEAM folder created by the first download part 1.

The tricky part is you will need to combine all the different parts into one STEAM folder.  There is no easy way to do this other than manually work your way through each folder and combine it with your new STEAM folder.  (beware there are some duplicates between downloads, make sure you get all the contents)

Once you have created your new steam folder the hard work is done.  You can now place it in the correct place.

The Spectrasonics STEAM folder on macOS is located at Macintosh HD/Users/Your Username/Library/Application Support/Spectrasonics. This location is hidden by default, so you'll need to access it via the "Go" menu in Finder, then hold the Option key to reveal "Library" or by using "Go to Folder" and typing ~/Library

It might be wise (although I am not sure if needed) to also change all the folder preferences to read write and use all enclosed folder option.

Now you can run the application installer program and then run Onnishere app from the applications folder.

Finally run your DAW, in my case Logic, and check its all working.
The first time i did this I was getting errors every time I tried to load it so I did the whole process again and it worked!.

Good luck!

I accidentally opened Omisphere 3 and couldn't see my earlier patches. Now that I've found the libraries here, I'll download each one of them and manually place it into the Steam folder on my external drive. Will it still work? Omnisphere has the option to search for patches in the Steam folder.

Should do.  The connection to your external drive will be via an alias in the location of the original STEAM folder as described above.

Hi, I did exactly as you described and everything went well. I even see the sounds I had from Omnisphere 2. However, I encountered a problem: when I load several Omnisphere 3 sounds, they give a message saying they can't load the missing sounds. What do you think? Does this happen to you too? What do you think it could be? Thanks.

No. Think of every omnisphere steam library as a layer, The first STEAM folder from OM1 was the original layout. Don't change anything. The reason the folders are empty sometimes is it's an new layer and it's adding new things to what you already have. so you just copy and paste over. Omni is finicky and if you don't have every file EXACTLY where it should be, ERROR. and the sounds have at least 3 components spread out over the folders.

So you extract the 6-part files for the STEAM file and then do what? They won't merge by holding option and dragging.

For MAC - Place steam file accordingly to spectrasonics folder

Library/ application support/ spectrasonics/ omnisphere

Extract rar file with KEKA

I have successfully installed and omnisphere is up and running in MAC

yes this works and adding to that copy your STEAM folder on the extracted cars to Library/ application support/ spectrasonics/ and replace the STEAM folder there then open omni on you daw it'll work perfectly

If you are using you external hard for the libraries use this code in the terminal
ln -s "/Volumes/YOUR EX HARD NAME /THE FOLDER ITS IN /Spectrasonics Omnisphere v3 Core Library [STEAM]/STEAM" "/Users/NAME/Library/Application Support/Spectrasonics/STEAM"
