hey guys so I found the solution to the activation key, so:

first make sure your finder is showing the hidden items so press cmnd+shift + . (dot)

then
you need to go to the finder and go to this route  /Users/(your user name)/Library/Application Support/

and there you need to create a folder called "Baby Audio" (in case you don't have one already) and there you need to drop the license called "9f86d081884c7d659a2feaa0c55ad015.lcs" that is inside of the license folder besides the installer, that must make it, in case it doesn't work like that, try to create a folder in the same route Users/(your user name)/Library/Application Support/ but this time create a folder and call it  "af854ba56b229a56c422472ee764eba8" and drop the license there as well. keep both folders and it might work! :D

after finishing press cmnd+shift + . (dot) again so you hide the hidden items again.

Deleted everything, reinstalled 2.0.23, it works, update to 2.15, it stops working. 
is there not a way to apply the license AFTER updating. Cause when I change the VST file when installing 2.0.23 it doesn't ask me to locate the license anymore, it just works (I guess cause I did it before? idk). then trying to update it is when I run into the issue. I've deleted and reinstalled at least 4 times and every time 2.0.23 works but updating makes it lead me to the websites.

Yo I already had 2.0.23 installed working correctly and everything, but after I run the 2.1.5 it says "This machine is not yet authorized for Serum 2". Its asking me to locate the license file or anything like before. Anyone know how to fix this?

when you get to locate files  look in documents(left side of the window where "my pc-home-pictures-documents")  for xfer file >serum 2 preset just click on it

and reinstall  2.023  check works..then install 2.15

maybe try blocking 2.15 from anti v before update 🤞

After upgrading, it wouldn't work at all; I had to delete the VST3 file from "Common Files" and reinstall it, but it reverted to version 2.0.23—the original version.
