Ample Guitar M is an acoustic guitar virtual instrument from Ample Sound, designed to recreate the sound and playing characteristics of a Martin D-41 acoustic guitar in a software-based studio environment. The instrument includes three dedicated sample libraries covering Fingerstyle, Pick, and Strum playing styles, making it suitable for a wide range of acoustic guitar arrangements.
Realistic Acoustic Guitar Sampling
The instrument includes samples covering nine articulations: Sustain, Palm Mute, Natural Harmonic, Hammer On & Pull Off, Legato Slide, Slide In, Slide Out, Pop, and Slide Guitar. The sampled material is approximately 5.83 GB.
Ample Guitar M also provides polyphonic legato and Slide Smoother, helping create more natural transitions across different intervals and playing speeds. Drop tuning is supported down to D1, while authentic left-hand performance noises and adjustable acoustic resonance add further detail to the guitar performance.
Riffer 4 MIDI Editor
A major part of Ample Guitar M is Riffer 4, a MIDI editor specifically designed for plucked-string instruments. Its Strumming and Chord System uses a dedicated Strum Note that lets users edit multiple notes in a chord as one object, with control over strum timing, velocity gradients, and legato parameters.
Riffer 4 can switch between Piano Roll and Guitar Tab views in real time. Its string visualization system also helps MIDI programming follow realistic guitar techniques by considering string assignment and fingering.
The editor supports MIDI import and export, while dedicated controls make it possible to program fingering, articulations, legato, and expression without relying on complicated key-switch or MIDI CC workflows. Multiple MIDI CC and velocity lanes can also be edited with curve presets for faster automation. An extensive built-in riff library provides additional starting material.
Strummer and Tab Reader
The Strummer section can detect two chord modes and allows users to create custom chords. Strum SEQ supports customizable rhythms and speeds, while the included rhythm library supports MIDI drag-and-drop workflows.
Tab Reader 4 supports Guitar Pro files from GP3 through Guitar Pro 8. It can also import complete bass tracks into Riffer while retaining fingering, articulation, and performance information.
Built-In Effects
Ample Guitar M includes an integrated AMP and FX system with an 8-band EQ, compressor, delay, and convolution reverb, providing basic sound-shaping and processing directly within the instrument.
