FRESH INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS
Note, I didn't even have Omnisphere 2 downloaded, let alone installed... so here are the steps to get O3 working if you don't have O2 yet. Steps may look intimidating because it's long, but I am just being thorough.. it's actually pretty easy.
Requirements
- One of the releases of Omnisphere 2 (no need for the STEAM library for it). I used Spectrasonics.Omnisphere.v2.8.7c.Incl.Patched.and.Keygen-R2R.
- This download of V3
- The STEAM library for V3
Install steps I did, verbatim:
- DO NOT install Omnisphere 3 yet (uninstall if you jumped the gun)
- Install Standalone, VST2+3 (note: I didn't install any STEAM data, just plugins) of Ominisphere ** 2 ** mentioned above
- Go offline
- Run Standalone of Omnisphere *2* . If you're prompted at any point about STEAM folder, just close that out. Don't need to do that in this version.
- Click "Request Authorization"
- Open Keygen, dont forget to change dropdown in it to Omnisphere.
- Look at URL that opens and copy the part after ch=, this is challenge code.. paste this into keygen and hit generate.
- Paste the response into Omnisphere 2.
- Restart Omnisphere 2 standalone... should not complain about license. If so, you should be mostly good..
- Close out of Omnisphere 2.
- Open folder %programdata%\Spectrasonics
- Locate "AUDIO16.DAT" and rename it to AUDIO19.DAT
- Extract the Steam Core library anywhere (where you want it to be permanently).
- Install V3 of Omnisphere
- Launch your DAW **** AS ADMINISTRATOR **** and open Omnisphere 3 VST
- Should prompt you to locate STEAM folder.. do so, and you point to the one named "Spectrasonics Omnisphere v3 Core Library [STEAM]"
- You might need to relaunch your DAW and everything at this point, but it should work. I launch DAW in admin mode from now on because O3 complained about not being able to write to its STEAM folder.
