if you already installed 2.0.2.3 before this update was even out, im assuming things will be much easier for yall (including me)

step 1. DOWNLOAD THE UPDATE ZIP FILE (and the 2.0.23 if you havent yet)
step 2. for yall who cant read, the password for the zip files are www.4download.net (all of the programs here use that password)
step 3. install Serum 2.0.23 (skip step 3-6 users who already installed the vst)

step 4. replace the vst3 file in Program Files > Common Files > VST3 Serum2.vst3 > Contents > x86_64-win (yes thats a folder you can open)

step 5. load the lic file by hitting Win+R and type in %appdata% and find the Xfer folder and locate the Serum 2 folder (my experience i had to create that folder manually so do this if yall cant find the Serum 2 folder)

step 6. open serum 2 in wtv daw you own and load the lic file if it asked you by any chance. (most likely wont happen)

step 7 - CLOSE YOUR DAW ENTIRELY and open the UPDATED zip file (same password, so dont ask again)

step 8 - Launch the updated exe installer, and allow the installation to complete

step 9 - (there is no vst3 file in the updated zip file, so idk where the frick momooine og got that from) so open the same directory where we replaced the Serum2.vst3 file and just to make sure, open the 2.0.2.3 zip again and transfer that file once more. and rerun the updated installer.

step 10- launch your daw and open Serum 2. you will see a screen saying that your device isnt authorized. follow the steps and you should see a button asking you to open the folder where the lic file is (this is the license) so load the file what i saw is that serum still shows the license screen.

step 11 - reopen your daw, or delete Serum 2 and add it back again.

and Serum 2 will load normally and you will have 2.1.5 on your machine now.

(this was what i needed to do, so step 9 seems kinda odd but trust me i had to do this)

DOPE!!! I guess I know what I am buying next Black Friday... or Cyber Monday, whatever.

It installed fine for me, but I tend to be pretty good at troubleshooting, you do need an account first, but you don't need a license, and sometimes the boxes will be unchecked for VST3 etc.. If that is golden, is your VST3 directory at its default location. if yes on that, I would check Virus software make sure nothing got quarantined, Try running the installer as an admin... If that fails, here are some common command line flags for VST3 installers you could try
/VERYSILENT — Installs completely silently without any user interface.
/SUPPRESSMSGBOXES — Prevents message boxes from popping up.
/NORESTART — Prevents a system reboot even if required.
Example: UltraInstaller.exe /VERYSILENT /NORESTART
/S — Runs the installer in silent mode.

Beyond that, you could try re-downloading... Or be thankful you didn't actually spend money on something that doesn't work on your system
